Winter Season

Welcome to Strawberry Vale preschool. We had a great year and now Christmas is right around the corner. Enjoy your holiday break! The return date is January 5th, and your little one is welcome to bring ONE item for show and tell.

The weather will continue to be chilly and wet, so we have moved indoors, so no need to bundle them up for drop off unless you are walking to school. Please still bring gloves, boots, rain gear, warm hats, and spare clothing in their backpacks in case they get wet because we will still be having outside time for the last hour of the day. Please be advised that this is the season of runny noses and coughs, please assess your kiddo’s health prior to drop off.

Peek of the Month

Inside play has opened a whole new world for our little ones. Our mini humans built a giant felt snowman. They created some pretty cool and wild looking snowman. They played pirates, they blasted pom poms out of cannons and catapulted them into a doll house. Their imaginations are always exploding with new ways to have fun. When playing outside, they built roads and walkways and had a blast with boxes. Who doesn’t like playing in/with boxes?

Inside our littles recent highlight was finding a big bin of garland and decorating their coffee shop. It was truly beautiful watching them decorate with the festive sparkling garland.

The best part is that these beautiful individuals have really connected and have built such precious friendships.

Fundraising

At Strawberry Vale Preschool, we are a cooperative school, meaning, we fundraise each year to help pay for necessities, maintenance, and for new things for the school.

If you have not participated in this year’s fundraising please contact your class rep for details.

Welcome to Strawberry Vale preschool. The weather has been chilly and wet, so we have moved indoors a few times. The kiddos loved the change of scenery. Can always take off a few layers if need be or if we move indoors.

Sensory Play

The Frogs class had a blast playing with the mini kitchen set, playdough bakery, we had circle time and they played with dolls and all sorts of toys. The little ones practiced their drawing skills, practiced cutting, and used toy tools like the hammer. The Frogletts had fun with dinosaurs and even made a huge city out of block towers for their little dino- buddies. “Reminder to parents: fairy themed play; check pockets for little gems “fairy dust” before doing the laundry.

Fall season

Welcome to Strawberry Vale preschool. Fall is here, the season of cute little mittens, puddle jumping masters and beautiful colour changing leaves. This year has been hard for everyone due to COVID, but that’s not stopping our littles from learning and having fun, which is our main priority. Our classes are outdoors for now while the weather allows it, so bundle up your kiddos for chilly conditions: gloves, booty’s, rain gear, warm hats and spare clothing in case they get a tad wet. They can always take off a few layers if need be.

Sensory play

The Frogs class has been having a great time exploring lots of different textures and sensory objects, which are great learning tools for children this age. There has been playdough play, playing in mud and sand, shaving cream finger painting, and print painting with apples and potatoes. Our little Froglets have been learning how to hula hoop, which has been very fun for them. We also have big wooden blocks and toy construction tools that have been quite a hit with the children.

Sensory play has a very important role in our children’s development. Exploring senses like touch, taste and smell, helps youngsters learn how to categorize, figure out how things work, and it’s beneficial to them to do these activities. Whether it’s with playdough, mud, sand, finger painting, playing with blocks and even different types of craft materials like, fuzzy pom poms, fluffy pipe cleaners, paper, popsicle sticks, glitter, and more. Yes it can get messy, but that’s how they learn.
