Learning Through Play
At Strawberry Vale Preschool, our educational philosophy is centered around the belief that children learn the foundations of logic, reasoning, communication, and problem-solving through active play. This approach, known as learning through play, encourages children to explore, discover, and grow in ways that are both meaningful and enjoyable.
What does learning through play look like? It might mean stacking giant coloured blocks to create patterns, exploring nature by bringing the outdoors into the classroom, discovering concepts like gravity and buoyancy at the water table, or developing social skills through imaginative play and storytelling.
These hands-on experiences create an engaging learning environment that supports a wide variety of learning styles while fostering curiosity, creativity, and confidence.

Growing Together as a Co-Op
Strawberry Vale Preschool is a parent-participation cooperative preschool. Our co-op model is an important part of what makes our preschool community so special.
Families play an active role in supporting the preschool and working together to create a welcoming, connected environment for our children. This shared involvement helps build strong relationships between families, educators, and the preschool community as a whole.
We believe that when families are engaged in their child’s preschool experience, children benefit from an even stronger sense of belonging, connection, and community.
